POEMS to CELEBRATE the Occasion

We have several poets, writers and wanna-bes in our midst. So here we go with some pre- and post-Goa reflections.

  PAVAN NAIR

We did all meet at Calangute
Believe me, it was quite a hoot.

The guys n gals let down their hair
And for once, there was no care.

  Song, dance, food n wine
Made us feel so very fine.

The chats, glances, even a gentle touch
Was to reconnect n meant so much.

The walking, even in the blazing sun
Was actually quite a lot of fun!!

So lets be happy with what we have got
A great band of people, a happy lot!

ROHINI SUNDERAM

Dear all
From poesy and odes
My muse falls short
As I am working on
An Annual Report

the subject is dull
but the money's so fine
I promise to be back
with a better rhyme!

When I recall the joys
The games, song and laughter
with the girls and the boys
At Goa for ever after

:) hugs to all

ODE TO MY ROOMMATE PAVAN

My roommate at Calangute, Pavan
Was absolutely manna from heaven

We chatted in bed(separate!) to wee hours
And reminisced about friends from time afar

How we matured from our pre-pubescence
And paths we took in our exuberance

What spouses we met and betrothed
What joys and tragedies befell us both

But the topic always drifted to the present day
How lucky as AFCSers  we are held in sway

By Kavery, Pammi  and Vijaya
And Geeta,Geeta and Geeta

And by the exalted company we keep, our baubles
The Admiral, the Desert Flower & tireless Hubbles

They were many,many more
Each a gem set aside to later explore

We would soon drift our minds full
The fan spins, and we fall asleep until

MALLIKA

Arrivederci Goa, sadly, sadly we say
Loved the brilliant sunshine on the beaches
Loved the food and drink, and each his
Favourite tipple guzzling -
Ekta and Uday thanks for hustling...

Arriverderci Goa
We're all back at home once more
Already Big Bash 3 we're eying
And this time we'll all be flying
(memories keep us warm-hearted)
To places uncharted...

Arriverderci Goa
We're all back at home once more
